Apply for FEMA Assistance
Residents and business owners who sustained losses can begin applying for assistance today by registering online at www.disasterassistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA(3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice. U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loans are available for homeowners, renters, businesses of any size and most nonprofits. Similar to FEMA, SBA cannot duplicate benefits for losses covered by insurance.
For homeowners: up to $200,000 is available to repair or replace their primary residence. For homeowners and renters: up to $40,000 is available to replace personal property, including vehicles.

211 is an easy-to-remember telephone number that connects callers to information about critical health and human services available in their community.
It's a single access point for details about food pantries and other food assistance sources near you. A plan for Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) for Hurricane Ida has not been announced at this time but you can check this website for updates if it becomes available.
Register for Special Needs Registry
The special needs registry helps the City know who might need extra help during an emergency. Sign up for the special needs registry if you:
Use life support systems, like oxygen, a respirator, a ventilator, dialysis, a pacemaker, or are insulin-dependent
Have trouble walking, moving around, or have a prosthesis
Are blind, deaf, hard of hearing, or have trouble seeing
Are on dialysis
Have speech, developmental, or mental health disabilities
Use service animals
